The Menicucci Family, life with 6!

It's been a while...

We were so happy to have more visitors from WI, my Grandma Artz and Aunt Judy drove all the way here to visit us! We had a great time- we showed them one of our favorite fast food playlands, went out to eat for some Italian food, visited with Brian's family, and they babysat for me while I went to pick up Hannah from school and watched Ethan while I took Amber to the doctor.
We had finally just got the twins, Brian, Hannah and me healthy and I didn't really want to go back there. I was ready to just rent a room at our pediatricians office with our round of colds, sore throats, Amber puking, then testing positive for strep, followed by several days of scary hives; then Ethan coming down with croup, THEN while Great Grandma was here Amber's wrist was dislocated!! This is how it happened: I was holding Amber's hand and we were walking down the hallway to get ready for nap. She decided to get silly and drop down to the floor, and swing herself around, knowing that I wouldn't just drop her...well, at that moment I heard a pop (much like when you pop your knuckles), she said it hurt and pointed to her wrist. I didn't think too much of it, she was still using that hand and could pick up her cup, etc... well, she didn't go down for a nap as easy as usual and woke up crying after an hour. It wasn't swollen or anything but she was clearly in pain, so I took her to the doctor while Aunt Judy and Great Grandma stayed home with Ethan. I took Jack along since he was due to eat within the hour and I had no idea how long this visit was going to take. Thirty minutes later, we were at the doctor's office, he was holding her arm and feeling around up near the elbow and down by the wrist and then he said "I fixed it, it's back in place now. It's called Nurse Maids elbow, she pulled it out of place when she swung around on you, don't worry this is VERY COMMON at this age, we see it all of the time." Ha! Just like that it was fixed! Thank goodness, I was so worried that she was going to need x-rays and a cast and be in a lot of pain. (And that I was going to look like a crazy child abuser!) That was definitely scary, and the cutest part was that Amber was really confused about why Ethan wasn't along; in the waiting room she was asking "Bubba? Bubba?" and looking all around trying to figure out why he was missing. It was really sweet, actually. Back at home Ethan was doing fine, eating snacks and watching cartoons. According to my grandma, he would walk around the house, quietly looking for Amber and not saying much, wondering where she was. Within 10 minutes of all of us being back home, Amber and Ethan were playing rough and climbing on each other like usual, Amber was fully using her left wrist, and she bonked heads with Ethan and got a bloody lip. She is quite accident prone!

All of these crazy things were happening and I couldn't even blog about it because our computer died! We finally got it back this Sunday, and luckily all of my photos of the kids were retrieved and saved onto our new hard drive. It was probably a good break for me, I've been a little addicted to facebook recently anyway. Add Image

Oh and here's some news on Hannah...she received a chocolate rose from a male friend of hers at school on Valentine's Day!! A third party delivered it to her and said it was from a "secret admirer," I can't believe she's old enough to have a secret admirer! After about 15 minutes into lunch, the secret admirer went up to her and revealed himself. How sweet. But they ARE NOT boyfriend/girlfriend, she's not allowed to "go out" or "date" or even "talk" to boys on the phone for several more years.

Here are a few pictures I took recently:

Hi Gina!
Wow- you've had a busy couple of weeks!! Poor little Amber- I bet her and Ethan are SO cute together. I think its adorable Hannah had a "secret admirer", but I'm sure boys can wait many many years. I love the shots of Jack- what a cutie!
Thanks for the reminder on the Hannah/daycare lock-in- I DID forget! Its nice to know even the best moms have had one of those glorious moments.... Motherhood, you gotta love it!

That little Amber is going to be one tough cookie when she gets older. Watch out! I always knew Hannah would be a heart breaker. I can't believe she is old enough to have secret admirers but it's really cute ;)
